4th of July

It has been a nice relaxing weekend by the pool....we lounged around all day Friday and Saturday. There were some pina colodas and margaritas.
Saturday night we had plans to go to a cookout. Our friends Maria and Tony had rented a tree house villa at Disney's Saratoga resort. But when they got there they were told a pipe burst in the tree house so they were being upgraded to a grand villa. Yes it was bigger but the tree house had the grill and everything we needed for a cookout. They had brought all sorts of food for the cookout and invited 15 people. Well if there is one thing you learn about Disney from being a local it is that if you they screw up and you complain they will make up for it. So they sent Disney Drivers and vans to pick us up and treated us to dinner (all 15 of us) at the Wave at the Contemporary. All we could eat and we got door to door service.

Here are some of the small things you notice at Disney resorts...Mickey's everywhere.

And check out this towel person....she was sitting on a roll of toilet paper.

Dave and Josh had fun with the sparklers.

Everyone brought lots of food...Check out this peanut butter brownie mountain...yummy!!!

It was Maria and Tony's dog, Lacoste's birthday. So there was party favors and cake.
Maria made the traditional 4th of July cake.

The best part about eating dinner at the contemporary is that we could see the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.

And Cinderella's castle.

On a sad note later that night, around 2am, two of the monorails leaving Epcot collided and killed one of the drivers. Luckily no one else was hurt and there was only like 5 people on board. I always knew those things were dangerous.
