Cuteness!!

Isn't she just precious!! The baby...not me. Although I am precious.

2010

2010 is coming to an end. It was a good year. Here are a few memories in no particular order.

We saw Taylor Swift in concert...fabulous!!

Jessica and Devin came to visit us!! Love visitors!!

Dave got front row seats to the Superbowl and took a Veteran with him to the game.

I made this fabulous creation for Devin's baby shower.

We finally got the new Magic Arena and Dave and I got to sit court side...even though there was no game. Dave later got to sit court side at a real game...without me.

We celebrated Dave's birthday at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with real beer...none of that butter beer crap.

Devin gave birth to this little pumpkin.

And Sweetpea had this little angel.

Lady Gaga in concert...best show ever!

Dave and I went to the Indy 500.

Dave hung out on the track before and after the race because that was where he was "supposed to be".

We visited the southern most point in the US with some great friends.
Hogfish...no explanation needed. If you see it on a menu, order it!
Duval St....you just have to experience it to understand.

Cheers to 2010. Now lets make 2011 even better!

Fun with Jessica and David

Last night our friends Jessica and David drove up to Nashville to meet us for dinner. We went the Wasabi Hibachi place we went to last year. Only this year our cook majorly sucked. There was no fire or volcano. Boo!! Dave complained and we all got a free desert.

Here is Dave and Greg sharing some fried ice cream. They are enjoying it a little too much.
You will never guess what Jessica and David got for Christmas. His and her's shake weights. Even Sydney got in on some shake weight action. Look at that face!
I am not sure what David is thinking here...
Jessica is obsessed and could not put the thing down. We expect her to have massive triceps in a week.
It was a short but fun visit. Thanks Jessica and David for making a special trip just to see us. We will see you this fall in Germany....maybe.

Our White Christmas

It snowed...for real, it did. And we went outside for 5 seconds to take a picture. I am wearing pajama pants and no shoes. That is how excited I was about the cold. Sydney was ready with her little snow suit.

Who has the baby? I think I see the top of her head on the bean bag.

It's like she is the baby Jesus in the manger scene.

This year it was all about this little Santa Baby. Check her out on her new pink bean bag that Uncle Greg gave her.
She got more toys than she knows what to do with.
It is cold here in TN. Us Floridians are not used to that so I had a blanket wrapped around me all night.
Look at all her presents.
How many stockings can you hang on one fireplace....11.
Dave took Sydney's hat...it was a little small.

It looks better on Sydney.
She got all dressed up for her first Christmas.
Sydney with Mommy and Great Grandad.
And of course with Great Gran.
Too many presents...
I hope that ya'll had a Merry Christmas. I will be back with more pictures later.

A White Christmas?

We are heading to Nashville tomorrow morning. Right now there is a 70% chance of snow on Christmas. That may not be a big deal to people who live there but for us Floridians flying in for the holiday it is an ordeal. I can't remember the last time I saw a White Christmas. Well...there were some flurries several years ago on the night of the drunk Devin incident. I remember this because she was trying to make snow angels.
Dave and I exchanged gifts last night. Lots of fabulous things!! Clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, cologne, football jersey's, a frying pan and a ceiling fan. We are kind of random like that.
Right now I am trying to pack for TN and it is not going so well. But I need a different pair of boots and coat for every day that we are there. That is a bare minimum. This could be interesting.
We can't wait to see the family and hold the "kid"ney. That is what Dave calls Sydney. We will see what Devin has to say about that.

The Dave and Allyson Christmas Dinner

Tonight is mine and Dave's Christmas. We always do our own little dinner and exchange gifts. These are on the grill right now....note that they are about 3 inches thick.
Dave is mad because I am blogging and not helping. He is taking pictures of me right now so that I can post pictures of me blogging instead of helping on my blog. Dave is special.

The Adopted Christmas Family

Today we delivered our gifts to our adopted family. 3 of the 7 of us that participated were in town to deliver gifts to the sweetest Mom and her 5 year old little boy. They lost their house and business this year. We hope that 2011 is a better year for them. And we hope that our gifts bring them some joy this holiday season!
Here are a few photos of us waiting for them in our Santa sleigh (aka my SUV). The car was packed with all sorts of Christmas fun!
This is definitely going to be a Christmas tradition!!

I am done with the shopping...

I went to the mall today for 30 minutes. That was all I could take. Here the thoughts that went through my head in that 30 minutes:

People loose all common sense when driving in a parking lot.

Why would you stop when there is no stop sign?

No I don't want a new cell phone. And I am going to do my best to not make eye contact with you.

No crazy lady I am not going to let you clean my ring. It cost more that you make in 2 years and I simply don't trust you with it.

Did that lady just run over my foot with her baby buggy and then yell at me?

Does anyone in this mall speak English?

I am pretty sure that two year old standing in the corner of the restroom is here by herself.

That man has 5 Victoria's Secret bags. I wonder what he bought? How do you fill up 5 bags there? Everything is so small.

Why do people walk so slow?

Seriously people...get out of my way.

I wish I had a baby buggy to run people over with.

And then I was done.

Ponies and Boxing

Last night we had Family Christmas Celebration number 1. We went over to Michael (Dave's brother), Sherry and Madison's house for the most delicious steak and lobster dinner. And then we exchanged gifts. Here is Madison with her new guitar and My Little Pony that we gave her. She insisted that Dave wear the little pink sunglasses. We had a great time!! We even got to play some Kinect. Dave and I got to box each other and I knocked him out. Yay me!!

Counting down to Christmas...

Dave had to go to jury duty today. Can you imagine Dave on a jury? He is that guy that could sway and entire jury one way or another. So the you either really want him on your jury or you really don’t want him. He wanted to wear a t-shirt that said “2012 – End of an Error”. That is one to make sure he was not picked. But at the last minute he decided not to. He was never selected to officially be a juror…this is probably a good thing.

I actually got Dave to the mall last night. It has been about a year since his last trip to the mall. He does all his shopping online or I do it for him. He actually picked out Christmas cards and gifts. I was impressed. I am usually the one to do these things. We stopped by the jewelry store where our wedding rings came from and he tried to convince me that he needed a $25,000 watch with loose diamonds rolling around in the face of it. Yes, that is exactly what Diamond Dave needs. You see he broke his Rolex a couple of months ago. He dropped it and the glass shattered into a thousand pieces. It was tragic. He had it for about 5-6 years so it had a good run but you still hate to see something like that shatter. Stupid tile floor.

One week from tomorrow we are heading up to Nashville!! Yay!! Hopefully it will not be too cold. We can’t wait to see everyone…especially those babies!

We are doing Christmas dinner with Dave’s Brother and family on Friday. They are making a steak and lobster feast. Yumminess!! We can’t wait to see them all…especially our little niece, Madison. I have not seen her since August. She is three now so she can actually have a conversation with us. I wonder what we will talk about. Maybe Santa…

We are also planning a fabulous Family Christmas with Mimi (Dave’s Mom)…what will be doing??? Something super fabulous!! I am seeing a 5 course meal with multiple lobster courses….now we will have to see if Dave and Mimi are having the same vision as me.

I have one more gift to buy…..ONE MORE. And then I am done. I saved the best for last. Seriously….I don’t even know if I have enough paper to wrap this enormous gift.

I want everything...

I have been sending Dave emails daily of things that I want for Christmas. I want everything…every thing. I don’t need anything. Except maybe a Lady Dior bag. I simply cannot survive without it.

I think Dave has had it with my email shenanigans. I can’t help it if Nine West and Juicy have new sales every day. It is such a bargain. How could he not buy me a lifetime supply of shoes and purses. I went to the Dior outlet this weekend and you would not believe the bargains. We are talking $1500 bags for $600. And Coach had an extra 30% off everything. Even the Gap had everything buy one get one 60%. Or as Dave says “30% off”. It sounds like more of a bargain the other way.

But shoes and purses are not in the holiday plan. We are about to start a major home improvement project that involves tearing out the entire back of the house to redo it. This will include new windows, repainting the whole house and a new sun deck. Dave has promised to wrap it in Dior wrapping paper. Don’t be jealous. If you come over I will let you lay on the deck.

Freezing Florida

It is not that often that it gets below freezing here in Orlando. But tonight it will get down to 26 degrees!! I know that all of you who live north of FL are laughing at us. Growing up in Tennessee I have seen much colder temps. It is humorous to watch the local news when it gets cold. I recall one night when the newscasters were standing outside in the parking lot staring up at a street lamp trying to determine if it was snowing. It was not. But they sure tried to make it look like it was.

Right now they are telling us all how to care for your car in cold weather. Yes, they are really worried that our cars will freeze over night. I will be sure to tell Dave to put a blanket over the Porsche before he goes to sleep tonight. I wouldn’t want it to get cold out there in the garage. Maybe it can cuddle with my SUV.

If it ever did snow here I would hate to see what the roads would look like. People would not know how to drive. We can handle driving in monsoons and hurricanes but throw in some ice and we will run right off the road.

Merry Grinchmas!

We spent today at Universal Studios with this adorable family. We started the day in Dr. Suessland. And yes...I did ride the carousel and it was fabulous. Dave refused to ride...boo Dave! He was fascinated with the Who's. They were super silly.
The Grinch was all that you would expect...mean and nasty. He had something to say about everything.

The Christmas play was kind of cute...Dave did fall asleep in the middle of it.

Fun in Curious George Land. That place was full of water. You had to watch where you walked because you might get a bucket of water dumped on your head.

We visited Donkey...he was full of funny comments.

We stayed for the Macy's Parade. They fly in the floats from the Thanksgiving Day parade. It's Santa!!

What you cannot see in this picture is the Dora float. She was yelling at Dora and shaking her Dora doll trying to get her attention. It was so cute.

Check out the giant Curious George behind them.

Such a cute family!!

We had a great day. It is fun to do Universal with kids. Dave and I saw things we never knew existed. We also finally got to ride the Rip, Ride and Rocket roller coaster. It is always broken when we are there. It was awesome...best coaster ever. You get to choose what music you listen to while you ride. I chose Kenny. Loved it!!
