And so it begins...
The political banter on Twitter, Facebook and the blogosphere. I try not to write too much about politics. Sure, I have my opinions. And they are the best opinions ever. But I would never expect everyone to agree with me. The world would be pretty boring if everyone was just like me. I am not ashamed to admit that I am a registered Republican. But that does not mean I despise the Democrats. They have some good ideas. And some bad ones. But then again so do the Republicans. I don’t mind a little bit of political talk. Like when people are talking positively about their own party. I think it is great to care so much about our government and want to make a difference. What I do have a problem with is when people bash the other side. And more importantly the supporters of the other side. Which means you are bashing me…get it??? That would make be delete you from my Twitter, Facebook and Blog Roll. So I make no promises to stay away from politics. But I do promise not to stereotype you and call you ugly names when I don’t even know you. I will not spread hate around the internet. I feel sorry for those who do. Our country needs help whether it come from a Republican, Democrat or Ross Perot (is he still alive?). So there is no reason to turn against each other in a time of need.
I like to get my news from Fox…you like CNN. That’s okay. I have a good friend that works for CNN so I do watch occasionally to see something she has produced. Don’t tell Dave…he will delete CNN from all the cable boxes in an effort to hide it from me. Remember when Diamond Dave made an appearance at the Republican national debate and Herman Cain talked about him and his question on national TV. Dave was all for Herman Cain. That did not end so well…

I so agree and like this post. I hate when they talk politic at work and how well this president is doing compared to Bush, let's not get started.
Great post! This needed to be written, and written well, you did. I dislike the hate speech, and year round from some. People should remember their class and for those that haven't found it, now would be a good time. I am over the nasty comments already and may be finished with all tweets, status updates, blog posts and the like. Life is more important than the nonsense that arises every four years at this time. I quit! I vote and if someone wants to state their opinion then their precinct is the place to do it.
"And they are the best opinions ever." Hehe, love this.
I completely agree. I am a registered independent, but am a Republican supporter. And, like you said, that doesn't make me a hater of Democrats. There are actually a lot of platforms of theirs I agree with, but the same goes for the Republicans. There is good and bad to everything, and people would do well to see it.
And I wholeheartedly agree... you can support your party/beliefs without trashing the opposing ones.
Great post! And I'm a little excited about the political races starting up... though I know 11 months from now I'll be eating my words, sick to death of it and ready for it to be over, haha.
Oh, I love your strong opinions! Don't hold back.
(my fave is when you discuss what to include on your application or how to perform in an interview)
Great post! ;) It will be hard to not take offense to everyone bashing my political beliefs this year. I never blog or try to share too much politically. It's just not worth it. One girl, who I used to love, wrote on Twitter that she would unfollow everyone who voted for the candidate she doesn't like... um... really? That's lame!
Well said and unfortunately I think that is what is wrong with the world, people don't respect people with opposing opinions and are just looking to find a way to hurty them.
Great post! I love the way you put it and completely agree. I stay away from politics as well.
