That was 9 trips I took in a year. 2 of them lasted a week. Not enough…
So in 2012 I want to do something spectacular. Dave and I are in the very beginning stages of planning a trip to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. I want to go in August. He wants to go at the end of September to go to Oktoberfest. But flights and hotels are 3 times as expensive at that time. We can still drink beer in Munich even when it is not Oktoberfest…really, we can. He wants to visit the birthplace of Porsche. Apparently he is in some special Porsche club. I can see a Diamond Dave story coming out of this. I think we are going to fly in and out of Munich and stay there for 4 or 5 days. And then we will also stay in Zurich and Zermatt for at least a couple of days. I am thinking we may just do a day trip to Austria from Munich. We have lots of research to do. Did you know that Switzerland does not use the Euro….random. Anyways, it will be interesting to see what we come up with. I have not been to Europe since 2004. I hope it is still there.
I am also working on a girls trip for early March. We are thinking about a long weekend in Ashville, NC. And then I have another group of girlfriends that want to do a weekend in Nashville. That is an easy one. And there are two major events I will have to travel for next year. One in Atlanta sometime in May. (oooooh, what could that be???) and my brother recently got engaged. I am hearing that the wedding may be sometime next fall in Nashville. Maybe we can catch a football game while we are there.
That is about all I have planned for 2012. I think it may be all I have time for. I am hoping to take 2 weeks off for the German/Swiss adventure. Too many work days…not enough vacation days.

I'm with you.. don't go to Germany during Oktoberfest. It's mayhem and you have to plan a year in advance to get in the good tents.
Sounds exciting!
You left out your trip to Atlanta in August...
Enjoy those trips now, before you start popping out the babies!!
Switzerland is soooooo Great! You will love it! And Ashville is too...jealous! Do the buffet at The Grove Park Inn...a sight to see! Are younhavigna party for your brother in Atlanta?
