So Dave figured out where we are going. He is just too smart for me. But it was super easy to figure out. Last year we were planning a trip to Saint Augustine for our anniversary. But we changed it to NYC a couple months out. So I have still been wanting to go. It is less than a 2 hour drive from here. I went for the first time last year on the way to Savannah and loved it. Dave likes to tell stories about visiting there as a kid. But we have never been together. So I booked a suite and the number 1 rated Bed & Breakfast according to Trip Advisor. The TA has yet to disappoint me. I also booked dinner and working on a haunted tour. I hope this nice weather is still around by then.
It was in the 80’s this weekend. I laid out by the Saturday and Sunday. Mahi likes to lay out with me. Too bad she is forever banned from the sundeck. That silly kitty climbed off the deck and on top of the screen enclosure. With each step she took I could just see the screen giving out and her crashing into the pool. And of course she climbed down onto a part of the roof and could not figure out how to get back up. I was about to call the fire department to come rescue her. But after 15 minutes of her crying and me yelling she finally climbed back up to the sun deck.
When I used to layout in the grass outside of the screen (pre sundeck days) I would let her go out there with me. She would run away to the neighbor’s yard and climb on their grill. Such a naughty kitty. This is why an indoor cat should always be in doors. She does not know what to do with the outside world. We only let Mahi and Mako go out in the screened in pool area. That is about all they can take. On occasion we will let them out there when we are inside and leave the door to the house cracked open. On evening I heard a ruckus and then Mahi comes running in the house soaking wet. It took me a few minutes to get her out from under the bed. It was obvious that she had been in the pool. I wanted to rinse the chlorine off of her before she licked it off. So I threw her in the sink. You would have thought I was cutting her leg off by her reaction. It was so bad that Mako was crying and pawing at me trying to get me to stop. But I got her cleaned up and dried her as best I could. I still wonder how it happened. I like to think she was chasing one of those lizards that can run on top of the water. She is so naughty. She has been locked in the garage and a closet before because she sneaks around when we are not looking. I even found her in the dishwasher once. After I repeatedly tried to push the bottom rack back in and it would not go. She also likes to climb and jump. One time she kicked off her kitty condo with such force that it knocked it over and made a hole in the wall. Yes, the 10 lb cat made a hole in the wall. Remember that story about the guy who was traveling and his cat snuck in his suitcase and he found it after a long flight when he checked in the hotel. Yeah…Mahi would do that.
